Monday, September 21, 5:00-6:30pm ET
On the International Day of Peace, join us for a program of discussion and reflection on former refugees’ experiences in the United States, Canada, and elsewhere. Former refugees from the then Southern Sudan, who were resettled in the United States in the early 2000s and beyond, will share their experiences on some of the contemporary challenges not only in the United States but also in other epicenters of refugees and displaced people, such as the Horn of Africa.
In addition to keynote speakers Rebecca Deng, Amer Ayor, Mal Tutdeal and Samuel Akau, the program will feature music by K-Denk, a popular artist and former refugee from South Sudan who now resides in Canada.
Please, join us on this day because refugees and other “Stateless People” are a strength to our communities, here in the United States and around the world.
